Michel BOURGEOIS, born 1734, "probably" the son of Pierre & Marie CORMIER of Beaubassin, Acadia, married to Osite GAUTREAUX (no parents given); four children listed. !MILITARY-CENSUS: Appendix V, ACADIAN COAST; 23 Jan 1770; from Legajo 161, Churchill, pp. 291-296; p. 91; Salt Lake City; in French, consists of a roll of men in the First Company of the militia of the Acadian Coast. Michel BOURGEOIS, age 34 [sic], from Acadia, married, lives 1 3/4 leagues from meeting place [exactly same distance as name just above of Joseph TERRIAU, age 32, his sister's husband]. Osite GAUTROT, born 20 Jul 1736 to Jean & Anne LeBLANC. Baptismal sponsors: Charles LeBLANC & Marie Josephe GAUTROT (SGA-2, 155). She married 1st around 1754 to Olivier FOREST, son of Jean Baptiste & Madeleine CÉLESTIN dit BELLEMERE. With her daughter Marie she was on the 1763 census at Snowhill, MD. In New Orleans, on 20 May 1767 Rose (?) married Michel BOURGEOIS, native of Beaubassin, widower of Marie Le--- (SLC, M2, 29). On the 1777 census of Cabanocey [LA] she was 42 years old, in family with husband Michel (42), son Paul, 8, and daughters Marguerite and Magdelaine (also both 8) [sic, they should be twins, age 3].
