!BIRTH-PARENTS-MARRIAGE: E-mail posting at <[email protected]> #302 on 10 Dec 1998 by Vincent CAISSIE ([email protected]). From the Cahiers of Stephen WHITE: Jean BOURGEOIS, son of Pierre & Marie CORMIER, born around 1739 (38 years old on the 1777 census at Cabahannocer, LA) married Ludivine GRANGER (according to contract signed by JUDICE at Cabahannocer on 30 Jan 1768). He was buried at St. Michel de Contrelle (Register 6 Dec 1823) at age 76 [so born around 1747?]. E-mail posting at <[email protected]> on 15 Dec 1998 by Vincent CAISSIE ([email protected]). In Stephen White's CAHIERS there is a Jean BOURGEOIS married Madeleine HEBERT, daughter of Joseph & Madeleine POIRIER. In Paul-Pierre Bourgeois, "A la Recherche des Bourgeois" 1994, he lists Jean as son of Pierre & Marie CORMIER [sic] (no documentation). !BIRTH-MARRIAGE-CHILDREN-RESIDENCES: Bona Arsenault, HISTOIRE ET GENEALOGIE DES ACADIENS; 1625-1810; Ottawa, Editions Lemeac, 1978, 6 vols.; p. 877 (Beabuassin); own copy. Not in father's family entry. But on p. 2435 (Louisiana), Jean BOURGEOIS, born 1739, "Probably" son of Joseph & Marie CYR [sic] of Beaubassin, Acadia, married around 1768 to Ludivine GRANGER [no parents listed]; two children. Item No. 20, dated 9 Apr 1798, Honoré LANDREAUX [LANDRY?], resident of St. Charles Parish, declares...that he has sold a slave named Louisa (10), a native of the colony, to Ludivine GRANGER, Widow Jean BOURGEOIS, resident of St. James Parish, for 300 piastres.
