Remains of Kenton man found inside burning house
    By DAN ROBINSON
    Times staff writer

The remains of a Kenton man are believed to have been found inside a burning house in rural Kenton Monday morning.
The Kenton Fire Department received a call for a house fire at 6:20 a.m. at 8689 CR143. Upon arrival, the department requested backup from McGuffey, Dunkirk and Forest fire departments, according to a release from the Hardin County Sheriff's Department.
After the blaze was brought under control, the firefighters discovered a badly charred human body. The body was burned beyond recognition, but Sheriff Craig Leeth confirmed at the scene it is believed to be Mike Ziegler.

According to Leeth, Ziegler suffered from Alzheimer's disease and had been reported missing by his family last fall.
In an adjacent room in the farm house, firefighters found the remains of a large dog.

The body was taken to the Montgomery County Coroner's office for an autopsy in an effort to determine the cause of death and to positively identity the body. Lt. Keith Everhart of the sheriff's office said today dental records were being used in the identification process.
The cause or time of death has not yet been determined, said Everhart.
