Services for Douglas A. Ziegler will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Price Funeral Home in Kenton with Rev Scott Johnson officiating.
Burial will be Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Friday, July 4, 2014 and from 9:00 am until time of services on Saturday.
He died at 3:51 am Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at his residence. He was born on June 28, 1940 in Kenton to the late George and Marjorie (Ford) Ziegler. On April 7, 1962, in North Baltimore, he married Dorothy A. Carter and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are 2 sons Dale (Mary) Ziegler of Bradyville, TN and Duane (Jean Rohrer) Ziegler of Montrose, CO, 1 daughter Debbie (Bill Bopp)
Ziegler-Bopp of Johnstown, 2 grandchildren Joshua (Carla) Ziegler of Centerville and Hunter Bopp of Johnstown, 3 sisters Janice (Tom) Kuck of Kenton, Joanna Ziegler of Redding, CA, Judy (Gary) Woodard of West Milton, and 2 brothers Burke (Peggy) Ziegler of Ada and George (Connie) Ziegler of Kenton.
He was preceded in death by a brother Michael Ziegler.
He was formerly employed at Baldwin Hamilton in Lima and Whirlpool in Findlay as well as a self employed farmer. Upon retiring from farming in 2000, Doug and Dorothy retired to Montrose, CO where they continued their love of traveling.
Doug was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, a life long member of the Farm Bureau and the Rifle Association.
