Capt. Mial died intestate and left a considerable estate: homestead farm in Swansey, farm of son Mial Pierce, son of deceased dwells, woodland in Swansey, woodland in Rehoboth, personal property consisting of money and notes. Estate divided: Martha Pierce, widow, the homestead house, other building and part of the land, also 2/3 of personal property. Mial, son, the house and land where he dwells and share of the personal property. To Clothier, Daniel, John, Jeremiah Fisk, and Rebeckah his wife, Martin Salisbury and Patience his wife, Perez Dean and Sibbel his wife, the remaining part of the homestead farm, woodland in Rehoboth and share of the personal property. Deed, dated 21 Sep 1792, Vol. 71, p. 230, wherein Clothier Pearce, John Pearce, Jeremiah Fisk and Rebeckah his wife, Martin Salsbury and Patience his wife of Shaftsbury, Perez Dean Esqr and Sibbel his wife of New Stamford, all in the county of Bennington, State of Vermont, and Daniel Pierce of Kingsbury in the county of Washington, NY, sold land to Mial Pierce of Swansey, MA, 52 acres "where the said Miel Pearce now lives". Acknowledged 22 Sep 1792, recorded 25 Sep 1792. Deed, dated 22 Sep 172 Vol. 71, p. 355, where in "Miel Perce of Swansey" for £23=2=0 paid by "Clother Perce, John Perce, Jeramiah Fisk & Martin Salsberry yeomen of Shaftsbury, and Perez Dean Esqr of Stamford all in ye County of Bennington & State of Vermont, and Daniel Perce of Kingsbury in the County of Washington in the Sate of New York", quitclaims any right to the 37 acres "where Capt. Miel Perce late of sd Swansey Dec'd Dwelt, and is now set of[f] to his widow Martha Perce for her dower or Thirds". References
