Jon Shultz - Aug 19, 2002 Categories: Family Stories For a few years before uncle Marvin pass ed away whenever I was in the Bradner area I would stop to see him.

Usually I would have some question about the Shultz or Klotz family. Som etimes he would say that he did not know, but most often he had somethi ng to say.

We were talking about how some of the Shultz's had moved away from the Ris ingsun area in the early 1900's. I told him that a number of families h ad moved to MI, and asked him if he knew anything about that migration.

Marvin said he did not, but added back a number of years an elderly man ca me to his door asking about the Shultz family; said that he was relat ed to them.

Marvin was not really that interested in what the man had to say and t he man scolded him. "Someday, young man you're going to be interest ed in your family [history] and then it's going to be too late, and you wi ll have wished you had taken more interest in it."

Well, I do not know if Marvin forgot but this man had sent him a pictur e, here it is. His daughter, Jeanette Shultz Parks, found it in his effects.

The man was, it has turned out to be, Marvin's second cousin.
