    [Note: this source cites Mitchell in giving some comments about Josiah having a second wife. While he may have, Mitchell's comments about a widow Sarah do not apply to this Josiah (see the discussion on Josiah's page), and so it is unknown if there was a second wife, and if so, when he married her. Clearly Mercy was alive in 1718 as she is named in the birth of daughter Mercy, and Josiah had at least one more child after this (Nathan, m. 1748, so probably born about 1720-1725). There is almost no detail in the probate file, and none of the known deeds executed by Josiah were signed by a wife, so there simply is no information.]
