STOCKBRIDG, Mercy, d. Charls (Stockbridge), [born] Aug. 11, 1692.
↑Source:Dwelley, Jedediah. History of the Town of Hanover, Massachusetts, with Family Genealogies, p. 371, calls her Mary, apparently to distinguish her from a later sibling Mercy, but the birth record says Mercy. This discrepancy may contribute to the following confusion. "In the will of Charles (3), dated Apr. 4, 1730, he does not speak of a dau., Mary, or Judith, but does mention two gr. children Nehemiah and James Randall. We are uncertain whether Mary or Judith m. a Randall." The reuse of Mercy suggests the first daughter of that name died, and would make her possibly the mother of these two grandchildren. Both James and Nehemiah are found in the Scituate VRs with parents Nehemiah and Mercy Randal.
