Melvin Park ASHLAND - Melvin A. Park, 75, brother of Opal Smith of Fremont, died Monday at University Hospital in Columbus following a short illness. Mr. Park was born March 26, 1907, in Fremont, a son of William Arthur and Maude (Wilson) Park. He was a resident of Ashland CO most of his life and had retired after 27 years as a plant engineer from U-Brand Corporation. His home was at 1862 Cottage St., Ashland. Mr. Park was married April 7, 1973, to Dorothy Grimwood Ritchey who survives;along with two sons, Eugene A. of Lorain, Robert M. of North Carolina;two daughters, Mrs. Frederick (Joyce) Glass of North Carolina and Mrs. Richard G. (Patty) Newcomer of Mansfield; a stepson, Charles P. Ritchey of Ashland; 32 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; his sister in Fremont and a sister, Mrs. Dal (Verna Mae) Peden of Gallipolis;and two brothers, Wilson Park of Fostoria and Owen Hughes of Newark, N. Y. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a daughter. The funeral was Wednesday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Burial was in Ashland Cemetery. The family suggested memorial contributions be to the Endowment Fund of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.
