A two week illness of pneumonia was fatal to Mrs. Melvin Park„ 35, of Ashland, the former Miss Hildegarde Saner, of Fremont, who died at Samaritan hospital. Ashland, Sunday at 6 p. m. Mrs. Park the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Saner of 528 north Jackson street, and, the sister of Lt. Robert Saner. Fremont's first World War II casualty, who was killed in a bomber crash in Mississippi, December 21, 1941.
The daughter of Michael and Rose Wishneski Saner, Mrs. Park was born in Fremont September 30, 1908. She was graduated froth St. .Joseph's high school in 1926 and had resided here until her marriage to Melvin Park, also of Fremont., February 22, 1927 After their marriage they spent a year in Clyde, and then removed to Ashland, where they had lived since.
Mr. Park, who is stationed at Atlanta, Ga., with the U. S. Army, had been home on an emergency furlough when his wife was first stricken, but he had returned to Atlanta' last Wednesday when her condition had apparently improve. Besides the husband and parents., Mrs. Park is survived by four children, Donald, Eugene, Joyce Elaine and Robert She was preceded in death by one daughter, who died in infancy, and the brother, Lt. Saner.
The body will he returned to the Ochs funeral home, and funeral rites will be conducted at St. Joseph's church, but the arrangements were incomplete Monday.
