Mehitable, b. Pomfret 13 Feb. 1780-twin (original VR); d. in Lyme Twp., Huron Co., Ohio 2 Jan. 1841 age 60; bur. in Bellevue Cem., Lyme Twp. (Norwalk Reflector- 5 Jan. 1841). Whe mar. at Windsor, Mass. 5 Feb. 1801 (Windsor V.R.) to Lemuel Morse of Schuyler, N.Y., son of Zebadiah Morse and Mary Sabin... Mehitable White is entered in the microfilm V.R. of Pomfret, Conn. as being a twin of Sarah White, b. 17 Dec. 1792, and also in the Barbour Collection likewise. However the original birth record from Pomfret proved that the others were in error, and Mehitable was actually b. 13 Feb. 1780. I did a tremendous amount of research on this family trying to verify Mehitable's birthdate before I was able to get the original birth record. I found nothing of the contrary in searching Bible records, census records, D.A.R. records, family records, Morse genealogy, newspaper obituary, cemetery record, marriage date and birthdate of her children. All verify her birthdate as 13 Feb. 1780.
