"Elizabeth White (Betsey in mar. records) b. Pomfret 5 Sep 1775; mar. at Windsor, MA 24 Jun 1805 to Zephaniah French of Richford, VT (according to Windsor V.R.) In the 1800 census of Burlington, Otsego, NY we find Elizabeth White, a female 16-26 living alone next door to Royal Ross who had mar. her sister Anna White. She is the only unmarried child of Daniel White unaccounted for in the 1800 census of Windsor, MA. Also living in Burlington at the time of the 1800 census was a Zepheniah French with 2 males under 10; 1 male 26-45; 1 female under 10 and 1 female 26-45. In the 1810 census there was a Zephithimiah French in the Town of Stockholm, St. Lawrence Co., NY with 2 males under 10; 2 males 10-16; 1 male 26-45; 2 females under 10; 1 female 10-16; and 1 female 26-45. It is possible that Elizabeth mar. this Zepheniah French for his second wife. This is purely conjecture from the placement in the census records."
