↑ In 1755, probate documents from the division of the dower of her father's widow, identifies Mehitable as the "wife of James Pettey". No such marriage nor any record pertaining to it has been found, so the date and place of marriage, whether it is a first or subsequent marriage, etc., is completely unknown.
