Mayre Louise Crumrine, 82, of Gladbrook, Iowa, passed away at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook on Friday, December 28, 2012, surrounded by her family.
Mayre Louise Harris was born on August 1, 1930 in Gladbrook, Iowa, to Clarence "Floyd" Harris and Mary "Irene" Walter Harris. On January 15, 1963 she married Kenneth Crumrine in Barrington, Illinois and they resided in Gladbrook all of their life. Mayre was a member of the Eastern Star as well as the American Legion Auxiliary. Mayre loved to do needlework, crafts, camping and loved to volunteer her time for whatever was needed. She was also involved in the Cub, Brownie and Girl Scouts, wrestling booster club and was on the Gladbrook Library Board. Mayre also taught Sunday School and was a junior youth fellowship sponsor.
Mayre is survived by her children: Harris (Michele) Crumrine and Jana (David Molnar) Crumrine; grandchildren: Lydia and Phillip Molnar, Colin Crumrine and Autumn, Denali, Kierra and Trey Gardner; and sister, Sue (Dan) Reuter.
Mayre is preceded in death by her loving husband Kenneth, both of her parents and her sister, Jayne Harris Kelly.
A memorial service for Mayre Louise Crumrine, 82, of Gladbrook, was held Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Harlan Nuss officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
Honorary Pallbearers were Don Hasselmann, Roland Dahms, Dale Osten, Bruce Sperry, Raymond Crumrine and Donald Storjohann.
A group from the Iowa River Hospice, family and friends were in attendance.
