    Maxine M. Guillard

    February 28, 1928 - February 23, 2018

    York, Maxine M. (McBride) Guillard, 89, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at the home of her daughter Cathy Schmidt, Dover. She was the wife of Jean H. Guillard, who died on May 5, 2014.

    Mrs. Guillard was born on Wednesday, February 28, 1928 in Huntingdon, daughter of the late Lester S. and Dorothy E. (Thomas) McBride.

    Maxine was employed as a seamstress for the former Bernstein's Clothing Manufacturer, York and several other local sewing companies.
    She was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ and a Sunday school teacher. Maxine was the first women on the church consistory and a 50 year member of the choir. In addition she was a member of the church's Women's Guild, Sewing Circle and Garden Club.

    She is survived by five children, David L. Guillard and his wife, Donna of Shiloh, Jean H. Guillard, Jr, of York, Ruthann M. Sprenkle and her husband, Chester of York, Cathy S. Schmidt and her husband, Allen of Dover, and Constance M. Cramer and her husband, Howard of York; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; six sisters, Elsie E. Lynn and Thelma G. Cox, both of James Creek, Juanita I. Fisher of Huntingdon, Dorothy J. Swan of Mt. Joy, Nettie L. Diggins of York, and Savannah Hall of Huntingdon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

    Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Shiloh United Church of Christ, 2251 Willow Rd., York. Officiating will be her Interim Pastor Michael Beynon. There will be a visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Final resting place will be in Shiloh Union Cemetery.
