Jean H. Guillard, 87, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, at Pleasant Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Maxine M. (McBride) Guillard with whom he celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on March 30, 2014. Mr. Guillard was born in Coalmont (Huntingdon County), on June 2, 1926, son of the late Jean L. and Clemma (Taylor) Guillard. Jean served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed by Met-Ed as a Lineman / Truck Foreman from which he retired. He was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, York, and a past consistory member.
In addition, memberships included Shiloh American Legion Post 791 and the Met-Ed Employees Retirement Organization. In addition to his wife, survivors include five children, David L. Guillard and his wife, Donna of York, Jean H. Guillard, Jr. of York, Ruthann M. Sprenkle and her husband, Chester of York, Cathy S. Schmidt and her husband, Allan of Dover, and Constance M. Cramer and her husband, Howard of York; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Chester Guillard of York and Ray Guillard of Chambersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
