Max W. Huffman
Max W. HUFFMAN, 45, Akron, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw, where he was a patient three days. He had been ill five months.
Born Oct. 18, 1924 in North Manchester, he was the son of Grover and Myrtle SHIREMAN HUFFMAN. He was a lifetime rsident of the Akron community. He was married Nov. , 1946 in Akron to Phyllis SUMMERS. He was a heavy equipment operator for McMahan Construction company of Rochester. He was a member of the Akron Brethren church, a veteran of World War II and belonged to Akron Masonic Lodge 659.
Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Bonnie [HUFFMAN], at home; four sons, Tom [HUFFMAN], of Akron; Ron, Don and Max [HUFFMAN], Jr., all at home; one grandchild; the father, Grover H. HUFFMAN, Akron; four sisters, Mrs. Dean (Mable) POLLETT, Plant City, Fla.; Mrs. James (Mary Ann) LACKEY, Hillsdale, Fla. Mrs. Eleanor POLLACK, Pierceton, and Mrs. Paul (Irene) GRISSO, Sidney; three brothers, Cecil [HUFFMAN], of Roann; Joe [HUFFMAN], of South Whitley, and Jerry [HUFFMAN], of St. Louis, Mo., and nine nieces and nephews.
Last rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Akron Brethren church with the Rev. J. F. BALDWIN officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Masonic services will be at the Sheetz funeral home in Akron at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday and at the church for one hour before services.
