The above marriage record gives an estimated birth year of 1866. This agrees with the 1900 census record. But the transcription from her gravestone gives d/o/b as Nov 12, 1863. I have used the d/o/b from the 1900 Census record.

In 1900 Mattie was found on the 1900 census as the daughter-in-law of Maria Hartshorn Jackson. Mattie was widowed and had no children.

In August of that same year Dan died, but Mattie made her home in Kansas among the Jacksons for the rest of her life and was one of the most dearly beloved members of the family."
