    Matthew Robertson first appeared on the tax rolls of Breckinridge County, Kentucky in 1817 and was listed until 1839. In 1822 he was appointed by Elizabeth Robertson, widow of his brother, Samuel, to care for her business. It is recorded in Breckinridge Co. Deed Book G, page 249, that he was a witness when his father, James Robertson purchased land from Boanger Roberts on May 22, 1825. In 1839 he was appointed by Elizabeth Robertson, his Mother, to care for her business.
