  4. There are several indications this birthdate may be incorrect, possibly a few to several years off? His age at death suggests 1683-1684. Matthew's will indicates that Hannah Parris is his eldest daughter. She appears to be born in 1702. He signed a deed in 1702. Both of those would normally suggest a birth before 1681. His (second?) wife Mary Bacon was born about 1678.

The birth of Hannah in 1702 suggests he had a wife prior to Mary Bacon, who probably died soon after Hannah's birth. One source (Cutter suggests he m. 1702 Mary Chapin who d. 9 Apr 1703 but that simply doesn't agree with records showing Mary Chapin m. 1712 (a different) Matthew Gannett, and that a Mary, wife of Matthew, died 1713. Cutter seems to have conveniently altered the records to fit his needs.

That Mary Bacon was not Hannah's mother, and their marriage simply recorded on the wrong date, is refuted by the gap between Hannah and the next child, which suggests a discontinuity in spousal arrangements.
