- ↑ Sometime before 1940, the family moved to a 20 acre farm on what was then Moon Road. It is now known as County Road 300 West, and the address is something like 6147 North. The co-ordinates are 41 degrees 42 minutes North and 86 dgrees 45 minutes and 30 seconds West. During Mathias' lifetime, this was never really cultivated as a farm, though a household garden was often grown. We usually had two or three milk cows and a flock of chickens. For a short time we even had a few ducks. During the 1950's, we raised rabbits-for 4-H and to eat. The breed of rabbits, as I remember, was Champagne d'Argent.
Mathias lived there until his death in 1970.
