Obituary of Mason M. Bowen, from the Kendallville Standard, 1902 Mason M. Bowen passed away Friday evening. The funeral was held on Sunday. The death of Mason M. Bowen took place at his residence two miles north of this city Friday evening about 5 o'clock. He had been in delicate health for a long time but until a few days prior to his death his condition had not been particularly critical. He was 78 years of age. The funeral took place from the Christian Church on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock leaving the residence at 1 o;clock. The services were conducted by Rev E. S. Connor and M. J. Magor. The interment was at Lakeview.

Mason M. Bowen was born in the state of Ohio November 30, 1823 and died at his home near Kendallville on January 24, 1902 age 78 years, 1 month, 24 days. He was united in marriage with Mary Ann Brownad Aug 22, 1845. To this union three children were born all of whom died in infancy. He reside in White Pigeon, Michigan, Leo and Fort Wayne until 1852 when he moved to Kendallville in which town and vicinty he lived ever since. He leaves a wife, and adopted son, a brother, 3 nephews and 4 nieces to mourn his death. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon at the Christian Church and was attended by a very large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.
