The State Republican, Lansing, Michigan 8 August 1900: SUDDEN SUMMONS

Widow of Nicholas Emmer Expires of Organic Heart Disease Special to State Republican

Williamston, Aug. 8--The widow of the late Nicholas Emmers, aged 62, died yesterday noon at her country residence in Wheatfield. Death was caused by organic heart disease. Mrs. Emmers was out in the yard about 15 minutes before her death. She returned to the house and her daughter, Mrs. Foster, noticing that she looked ill, rang the bell. Before help came from the field, Mrs. Emmers had expired. Deceased leaves five children, Mrs. Emmers, whose maiden name was Mary Zimmer, was the aunt of John Zimmer, attorney, Lansing. Funeral services will be conducted by Father Connally at St. Mary's church, Thursday morning at 10:30. William Connally and mother, of Detroit, are guests of Rev. John Connally.
