  14. Mary told her grandaughter Mary Jo Krumm that she came to America about12-16 yrs old and worked for a folk in the south end of Columbus for25-35 cents a week. Mary had a recipe for Vanilla Almond Strip cookiesthat has now been passed down for generations. Confined to a chairbecause of a stroke, her sons stopped in to check on her and herdaughters lived with her, Kate and Bertha, to see to her care.
