Possibilities

There was a Maria L. Winne who married Frederick Gombel (12 October 1865), and who died 18 Dec 1870. In FG's pension record (Naval Service - Civil War), he listed his first wife's birthdate as April 30th, 1846. Pretty dang close. He said she was born in Albany. Had three children by her: Samuel B. Gombel (Albany Feby 17, 1866), Mary Gombel (Albany Nov 14, 1868), and Anna L. Gombel (Oct 6, 1870). FG died in 1922.
