An IGI entry from Phyllis Behnke <Phylcamke, 6 July 2000> says David was born 1685. This IGI also stated he married 1709. We do not know if he came from Ireland to America prior to 1750 or possibly from Chester Co, PA to settle in Lurgan Twp, Cumberland Co, PA. He may have come to PA as early as the late 1730's. There is an Arthur Shields who came from Ireland to America and settled in York Co, PA in 1730; his son, Thomas, settled in Amberson Valley.
