Mary's origins and maiden name have yet to be established. Her first sighting is in 1700 when she and her husband Richard Street had a son named Matthew baptised at Shillington in Bedfordshire. They then moved a few miles to the east to the village of Stotfold, where they had a son named Richard in 1702, then daughters named Mary in 1705 and Ann in 1707.

In 1710, Mary and Richard's daughter Mary died aged just five years old. Six months later, Mary and Richard had another daughter, whom they also named Mary, after the daughter they had lost. Finally, Mary and Richard had a daughter called Sarah in 1713.

Mary has yet to be traced after the baptism of their youngest child in 1713. Richard died in 1723.
