Children of Jonathan Sawtell and Mary Tarbell: 1) Mary, b. 16 Oct 1667; "d. at Charlestown 25 Jul 1684 (according to Wyman, op. cit., but there is a possibility that this death applies to the daughter of Zachariah [Sawtell, Jonathan's brother].".
[Note: Wyman notes the death of Jonathan's daughter on Vol. 2, p. 848, but gives no justification. It is found in Charlestown VRs (cited below), which presumably is the source. In other towns, VRs have been polluted with information asserted by secondary sources, but there appears to be no attempt to even suggest such a situation, just an unawareness of the VRs. The magazine is confused by a deed (Middlesex deed Vol. 27, p. 354) where Zachariah (son of the brother Zachariah) appears to assert rights belonging to his sisters, daughters of Zachariah, naming Mary Sawtell and the other two explicitly in 1727/28. If she died and he inherited her share, perhaps that is why he could speak for her, but if so, it is strange she is not called deceased. It is even strange to mention her if she died over 40 years earlier.]
