Mary Jane Pullin was born about 1793 in Bath County, Virginia and a daughter of Samuel Pullin and Sarah Henry. Mary Jane (Pullin) Eakle has a sister named Mary Ann (Pullin) Beathe and this can cause confusion. In his book, MORTON'S HISTORY OF HIGHLAND COUNTY, VIRGINIA, he refers to her on page: 327 as Ann J. [1] On the 1850 Census of Lewis County, Virginia (now West Virginia) she is listed as Mary Jane Eakle and in her husband's will he calls her Mary Jane as well as other records. Mary Jane married Benjamin Eagle (Eakle) on December 2 1813 and there is a bond dated November 24, 1813.
