Kay Olvey Crooke, 95, of Weatherford passed away Tuesday October 6, 2009 in the local hospital. Born March 17, 1914 in Lebonan, Indiana, she was a resident of Indianapolis before moving to Parker County to be closer to her daughter.
Kay was a long time employee of the Town Tavern, a life member of Alpha Tau Sorority and played the tambourine for Smyrna Shrina Guild.
She was a member of Christ the King Church in Indiana. Kay gave much of her time to volunteer work and community service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband of 37 years Kenneth Olvey and by her second husband, Tom Crooke.
Survivors: Daughter, Phyllis Walters and husband Boats of Weatherford; sister, Jack E. Laughner of Sarasota, Florida; 4 grandchildren, Steven R. South and wife Rhonda, Kenneth South and wife Giovanna, Diane Osborn and husband Jerry and Shari Gray and husband Gary; 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
