“Local Woman Dies Thursday: Estimable Pioneer Resident Succumbs in Her Home; Final Rites Monday”

Mrs. Mary E. Malmstadt, age 72, wife of Charles Malmstadt, pioneer coal and building supply dealer, passed away Thursday evening in her home, 1338 Main street. Mrs. Malmstadt was born in the state of New York on May 4, 1861. At the age of one year she came to Fond du Lac with her parents, residing ther euntil she was 14 years of age, then coming to Marinette. On July 13, 1879, she was married to Charles Malomstadt and for the past 58 years had lived here. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Birdie Erickson, Mrs. Walter Seymore, and Hazel Malmstadt, the latter staying at home, and four sons, Edmond Malmstadt, Racine, Frank, George, and Guy Malmstadt of this city, also 32 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The remains were moved to the Hanson and Onion funeral home and late this afternoon will be taken back to the residence.
