Named in her father’s 1670 will. [edit] WillIn The Name of God Amen I Mary Lippit of ye Town of Warwick in ye Colony of Rhoad Island and Providence plantations in New England widow and Relict of Moses Lippit Deceased: Being ancient and in a weakly Condition but in Perfect Sense and memory Thanks be Given to God therefore and not knowing how Soon it may Please God to Call me out of this Life Do make and Ordain this my Last Will and Testiment that is Principally and first of all I Do Give and Recommend my Sole in to ye hands of God in whom I trust and my body I Recommend to ye Earth to be Decently buried at ye Discretion of my Executor hereafter named and as for what wordly Estate it hath Pleased God to Bless me withall I Give Demise and Dispose of Same as followeth Imprimis I Give unto my Son in Law Thomas Burllinggame and my Daughter Martha his Wife Twenty pounds in money or equivalent to money to be paid to them by my Executor hereafter named within one year after my Decease Item I Give to my Son in Law John Lippit and my Daughter Receckah his Wife twenty pounds in money or equivalent to money to be paid to them by my Executor hereafter named within one year after my Decease ---- further my will is that whereas there is thirty two pounds due to me from my abovesd Son John Lippit which was due in my husbands life time that ye sd debt be wholly Remited and Discharged as though it were fully paid Item I Give to my Grand Daughter Marcy Gorton Wife of Othniel Gorton twenty pounds in money or Equivalent there unto to be paid to her by my Executor here after named within one year after my Decease Item I Give to my Grand Son David Burllinggame Son of John Burllinggame ten pounds in money or Equivalent thereunto to be paid by my Executor hereafter named within one year after my Decease Item I give to my Grand Daughter Mary Colvin Daughter of ye abovesd John Lippit twenty pounds in money or equivalent thereunto to be paid to her by my Executor hereafter named within one year after my Decease Item I Give to my Grand Son Moses Lippit Son of ye abovesd John Lippit twenty pounds in money or Equivalent there unto to be paid to him by my Executor here after named within one year after my Decease Item I Give to my Grandaughter Margret Remington Daughter of ye abovesd Thomas Burllinggame twenty pounds in money or Equivalent there unto to be paid to her by my Executor here after Named within one year after my Decease Item I Give to my loving Sister Martha Eldrid Ten pounds in money or Equivalent there unto to be paid to her by my Executor here after Named within one year after my Decease Item I Give to my Cousin John Budlong forty shillings in money or Equivalent there unto to be paid to him by my Executor here after Named within one year after my Decease Item All ye Rest and Residue of My Estate I do Give to my Son Moses Lippit Whom I Do also Ordain Constitute and appoint my whole and Sole Executor to Execute This my abovesd Last Will and Testiment in all Respects whatso ever And So I Take this Sixth Day of March In ye year of Our Lord God one thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen and ninteen and In ye fifth year of his Majesties Reign George King of Great Brittain France and Ireland etc Signed Sealed Published Pronounced and Declared by ye sd Mary Lippit to be her Last Will and Testiment In ye Presence of us ye Subscribers Randall Holden John Holden Randall Holden Junr. The aforesd Mrs. Mary Lippit Subscribor hereof The mark of Mary O Lippit (SEAL)appeared ye Day & year abovesd & did acknowledge ye above written will to be her volluntary act and Deed before me Randall Holden [Justice] [Majr] Randall Holden and Randall Holden Junr personally appeared before ye Town Councill of Warwick ye 3rd Day of January 1719 or 20 and Made oath that they Saw ye above Testator Mrs. Mary Lippit Sign Seal and Declare ye abovesd written Instrument to be her Last Will and Testiment and that she was in Perfect and Disposing mind and memory at ye signing of same and that they Signed as Witnesses toGether with John Holden to [ye same] ye sd Councill do Prove and approve said Will to be good and affectual to all Intents [Constitutions] and purposes in ye [Law] whatsoever Recorded ye 3rd Day of
