Mr. Pool married, June 25, 1878, Mary M. Kemerer, and they have children: Samuel W., born November 11, 1879; Charles O., born December 19, 1881, died September 7, 1890; Algernon P., born May 3, 1883; and Clifford Alexander, born May 6, 1885. Mrs. Pool is a great-granddaughter of John and Margaretta (Eltern) Kammerer, of Maryland, and later of Westmoreland county. Their son, Adam Kammerer, was born March 14, 1771, at Frederick, Maryland, and married in 1797, Elizabeth, daughter of Henry and Barbara Hiesly. Jacob Kemerer, (the orthography of the name having been thus altered) son of Adam and Elizabeth (Hiesly) Kammerer, was born August 13, 1807, in the Manor valley. He was a carpenter and millwright, and also cultivated the home farm. He married Magdalena, daughter of David and Elizabeth (Bauer) Bair, and they had a daughter, Mary M., born March 21, 1860, and became the wife of Alexander H. Pool, as mentioned above. Mr. and Mrs. Kemerer moved to Manor in 1884, and on March 6 of that year the latter died. Mr. Kemerer retired from business, and his death occurred March 14, 1888.
