!Obituary of Mary Ann Turley, [Baker] RECORD COURIER; 22 Jan 1959, p. 10; Microfilm copy in the Baker City Public Library; copy in possession of SMWS.

                                                                            "MARY ANN TURLEY
Mrs. Mary Ann Turley, 85. long time resident of Baker, died Wednesday in a La Grande hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Turley was born March 25, 1873, in Columbus, Nebraska. She was a resident of Baker for fifty years before moving to La Grande two years ago. She was a member of the Catholic church and of the St. Francis Altar Society.
She is survived by two sons, Sylvester Turley, Dutch John, Utah, and Dan Turley, La Grande; seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. ...Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Daniels funeral Home."

NOTE: if Mary Ann is listed as Mrs. Turley, did she really marry a Mr. Blackburn?

! "Baby Turley" has a headstone in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The Catholic Church lot maps list 1) Fred Kane, 2) Francis Brady child, 3) Mary Anna and 4) Florence Phillips as the individuals in the graves. The tombstones are 1) Fred Kane, 2) Baby Brady and Baby Turley, 3) Mary Ann Brady, 4) Florence Phillips. [This is the best that SMS can remember with notes that did not go in order-- and the photos from the graveyard.]

There is also the printed catholic church maps, that list 1) Fred J. Kane, 3) Brady infant Francis and Benjamine Postlewaite, 3) Mary A. Brady, and 4) Florence Phillips.
Is there a child that Mary Ann lost? Look carefully at the 1900 and 1910 census at the # of children and # living to help resolve this question.
