! In a deposition in her husband's military packet, Bridget said the following on 19 May 1905.

   "My maiden name was Bridget Hand. I was born in County Cavin, Ireland. I came to the United States when I was 12 or 14 years old. My parents died in Ireland. I had a sister living in Brooklyn, N.Y. the last I heard of her about a year ago. Her name is Mary McCann, widow of Patrick McCann, and she lived at #37 Taylor St. "

! Bridget was married and widowed before she married Daniel. Her first husband was Hubert or Hugh Mack, and they had a child named Thomas Mack.

Father Mackey; cause of death: Lobar Pneumonia; Date of Death: March 4th, 1923; occupation of deceased--at home; widowed; catholic; born Aug 1, 1846 in Ireland. 76y 7m 4d.

                                              "MRS. KANE VICTIM OF PNEUMONIA
           AGED AND PIONEER WOMAN OF BAKER PASSED AWAY SUNDAY AFTERNOON
   Mrs. Bridget Kane, wife of the late Daniel Kane, after an illness of only a few days, died at her residence Clark and Center Streets, this city, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, pneumonia being the cause of death.
   Mrs. Kane was born in County Cavin, Ireland. She came to the United States and to New York state when nine years of age. Was married in 1869 to Herbert Mack and to the union was born a son, Thomas Mack, prominently engaged in stock growing in this county. After the death of Mr. Mack she was married to Daniel Kane and came to Oregon in 1883. She is survived by the following children: Thomas Mack of this city: Matthew Kane of Manhattan, Nevada; Mrs. Mary Blackburn and Mrs. Al Phillips of this city; Mrs. Kate Brady of Chewelah, Wash, all of whom with the exception of Matthew Kane, being at her bedside when the final summons came. Mrs. Brady arrived just in time to receive recognition and a kindly smile from her saintly mother.
   Mrs. Kane was beloved by all who knew her. Her Christian like life and her faith in the Master is an inspiration to her family and her example of religious steadfastness was comforting to her loved ones.

! In the Catholic Church in Baker City, Oregon, there is a beautiful stained glass window of the presentation of the infant Jesus at the temple in Jerusalem. It is the second window on the west side of the chapel. Across the bottom of the window it says, "In Memory of Mrs. Bridget Kane."
