Mary Ann Elizabeth Hider was born 1855 in Withyham, Sussex, England as the daughter of a single mother, Charlotte Hider. After her mother married in 1859 Mary Ann Elizabeth took the surname of her step-father, George Willard (He was born and married as surname Willey, but later used the surname Williard).

On 10 Feb 1857, Peter Hider, son Peter, dau. Elizabeth, dau. Charlotte, granddau. Mary Ann Elizabeth (also: John William Barnett) all departed from London, on the ship Christiana. The ship landed at NYC on 8 Apr 1857. On 10 Apr 1857 the family arrived at Woodstock, Ontario, Canada.

Debats of Bay City; two brothers, James Willard of Bay City and Thomas Willard of Detroit; ten grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lalonde 225 Linn St, south, Wednesday afternnon at 2:00.
