Bragg was no stranger, as she was born and raised within a mile and a half of her late home. She was born in Knox County October 1, 1841\9, and at her death death was 512 years, 10 months and 15 days old. She was the daughter of David and Sarah Harper, both having preceded her to the better home; her mother having died in December 1884 and her father in March, 1889. On october 27, 1868, she was maried to Julius D. Bragg, to whom she was a loving and devoted companion. Six children - three sons and three daughters- were born to them and were all present at the funeral, excepting one son, Burl, who lives at Neligh, Neb. When he received the message that she was very low he wrote her such a sweeg letter, such as only a loving son could write. In it he said: " I have always remembered you, mother, w\standing in the yard, where I left you the day I came away, and will never forget that last fond embrace you gave me, which came of the good and great love of my mother." When he could not see her alive he preferred not to attend the funeral. The other childre are: Mrs. J.C. Barr of Galesburg; Mrs. Edward Cramer, Mrs Charley Housh, of Savage, Neb.; Harry and Glenn. twelve grand-children have lost a loving friend and of a large family, one brother and sister are left to mourn the loss of a good sister. Mrs. Bragg received her education at Abingdon college, and whild there united with the Christian church, and the writer seldom conversed with any one who loved to talk as well of the scripture, and could quote so much of it. the funeral was largely attended by sorrowing friends and relatives, who had gathered to pay their last respect to one whom they loved so dearly. it was held thursday afternoon at the Haynes Chapel and she was laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the church. Rev. Warner of Abingdon preached the funeral sermon. The quartet sang "Nearer, My God, to Thee" and "God be With You Till We Meet Again," and her favorite hymn, 'The Gates Ajar."
