Mary Grant was baptised on 26th May 1872 at Sidlesham in Sussex, daughter of Sarah Grant, formerly Upfield, and her husband Alfred Grant, a fisherman. She appears in both the 1881 and 1891 censuses living with her parents and siblings in the Mill area of Sidlesham - specifically at Island Cottage in 1891, when she was described as a parlourmaid. She has yet to be researched after 1891.
