Alice Blanche Grant was baptised on 2nd October 1881 at Sidlesham in Sussex, daughter of Sarah Grant, formerly Upfield, and her husband Alfred Grant, a fisherman. She appears to have been known by her middle name. She appears in both the 1891 and 1901 censuses living at Island Cottage in the Mill area of Sidlesham with her parents and siblings.
Blanche's father Alfred died in 1906. Blanche appears in the 1911 census living with her widowed mother at Island Cottage. She has yet to be researched after 1911.
