She was 79 years old. A graduate of Radcliffe College, Mrs. Twombly had taught science at the Brearley School in Manhattan. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Gray H. Twombly; a son, Robert, of Austin, Tex.; two daughters, Helen Watkins of St. Paul, Minn., and Edith Eddy of Palo Alto, Calif., and nine grandchildren."
