Facts and Events
Name Mary Dingley
Gender Female
Christening[1] 23 May 1717 Cropthorne, Worcestershire, England

Mary Dingley was baptised on 23rd May 1717 at Cropthorne in Worcestershire, son of Elizabeth Dingley, formerly Woodward, and her husband Samuel Dingley. Mary has yet to be traced for certain after her baptism. One possibility is that there may have been an error in the date given for a burial for a Mary daughter of Samuel Dingley who was said to have been buried at Cropthorne on 16th April 1717. Another possibility is that she may have been the Mary Dingley who married John Stinton at Cropthorne on 1st October 1747, but that could just as easily have been Mary's cousin Mary (her uncle Philip's daughter), who had been baptised at Cropthorne in 1725.

Although this burial is recoded a few weeks before the baptism of the Mary on 23rd May, it is possible that the dates of her baptism and burial have been transposed and that both records relate to the same child. There was no other baptism of a Mary daughter of Samuel at Cropthorne prior to the 16th April 1717 burial.
