    MRS. WILLIAM M. BOWLING

Mrs. Wm. M. Bowling, aged 71 years, 10 months and 14 days, died quite suddenly Monday morning, November 16, 1931, at about 5:00 o'clock, at her home three miles east of Farmington. She had been a sufferer of high blood pressure and hardening of the arteries for several years, but had been as well as usual up to the time of her death.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock by Rev. W.E. Coffer, of Coffman. Interment was at Parkview Cemetery.

Mary Virginia Detchmendy, eldest daughter of the late John and Ellen Detchmandy, was born at Ste. Genevieve, December 29, 1859. On Juen 19, 1879 she was united in marriage to William Bowling, of Ste. Genevieve County. To this union were born five children, who with the aged husband and father survive.

The children are Bert V. Bowling of Bismarck, Route One, Mrs. Ellen Cleve, and Mrs. Grace Thomure of St. Louis, Mrs. Susan Margaret Wigger of Flat River, and Clarence W. Bowling of Birch Tree, MO. She also leaves nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers and three sisters, Frank & Henry Detchmendy and Mrs. Katie Christ of East St. Louis, IL, Mrs. Julia O'Leary of Pueblo, CO, Mrs. Sarah Boyd and Clarence Detchmendy of St. Louis, MO, Noah Detchmendy of Baxter Springs, KS and Edgar Detchmendy of Pacific, MO.

Mr. and Mrs. Bowling have lived at their home east of Farmington the past forty years. In July 1929, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mrs. Bowling united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Ste. Genevieve County when a young woman. She lived a very devout Christian life.

Many times she expressed herself as being ready to meet her Savior. Her passing is a great loss to her husband and children, this being the first death in the immediate family. She will be sadly missed in the community where she lived so many useful and happy years.

    The News offers sympathy.
