1957-The Carroll News-obituary: Mary Ann Robinson, 79, died at her home near Galax, Monday, April 15. Surviving are three sons, Phillip Robinson, Pulaski; Clarence and Kenny Robinson both of Galax; a daughter, Mrs. Sophie Horton, Hillsville; two sisters, Mrs. Bob Dalton and Mrs. Eula Reece, both of Hillsville; two brothers, Jesse Davis, Hillsville; Elmer Davis, Mt. Airy, NC. Funeral was Wednesday at 2 PM at Mountain Plains Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

1992-Robinson, Alan Scott, The Robinson-Farmer Family Trail, pg 12-17, born: Max Meadows, VA; worked on a dairy farm near Boon's Mill, VA; went to Radford State College; was a school teacher in Fancy Gap, VA; left teaching to attend the farm and harness shop after marrying; Methodist; "The Life of a Pioneer" by Cornwallis Davis; Mary Ann returned to teaching in 1918 in Galax, VA where she also kept the library; she liked history and collected books on world history and art; knew a great deal about geography, mapping, astronomy and science; she also knew about electricity and magnetism; she had a model of a deodecahedron and a book by Mercator; before her death she gave her books, some dating to 1850, to the Galax library; when the new library was built in 1949 the books were sold to a rare book collector and are now lost
