    Case 14590 Ingersoll Mary 1711 June 27.

Will of "Mary Ingersoll of Salem ... widow being Sick & weake of body", dated 12 Jun 1711, proved 27 Jun 1711, names daughter Mary Cox; daughter Ruth Fowles; son Samuel Ingersoll. Daughter Mary Cox to be executor.

  2. One would suspect Mary Coomes is somehow connected to Humphrey Coomes of Salem. Her birthdate is unknown but given a marriage in 1670, she must have been born before Humphrey's marriage in 1659, so possibly a sister? There is an interested deed (Essex Deed Vol. 17, p. 100) where on 17 Oct 1705, Humphrey Combes of Salem sells to Samuel Ingersoll of Salem Cooper a house in Salem, the 500 acres that was his quarter of land in Connecticut granted to his father-in-law Richard Raymond. This deed neither expresses, nor requires, that there be any relationship between these men, although the diverse nature of these two items almost suggest the passing on of an estate (Humphrey only seems to have had one daughter, Hannah, for whom no record is found after her birth, and no other probate is found for Humphtrey). This seems generally in keeping with the above speculation, which would mean that Humphrey was Samuel's uncle.
