Mrs. Mary A. Axtell was born in Harrison county, Indiana, in October 1834; moved to Illinois in 1843, where she resided until 1872, when she came to Ringgold county, Iowa, where she has since resided. During her sickness, she accepted Christ as her Savior, and exhorted her children and friends to partake of the same great blessing. She passed away in peace, on the morning of July 2nd, 1887, aged 52 years, 8 months and 14 days. Her funeral was largely attended. Sermon from Matt 3:17,18. F. S. Locke.
