MARY CATHERINE WARE- NEE BARRETT- 1909 2011 Passed away peacefully at Providence Villa on Wednesday, September 14th in her one hundred and third year. Daughter of the late James and Mary Anne Barrett (nee Flood) she was predeceased by her brothers Lawrence (Brother Norbert FSC), Thomas and Gerard and by her husband, Norman, (1969). Mary was a loving mother to John (Pat), Mary Catherine Birgeneau, (Bob) and Jim (Debbie). Cherished grandmother to Michael, Kathy, Nora, James, Patty, Tim, Matthew, Michael, Maryanne, Michelle and Jeffrey, she was great-grandmother to sixteen, soon to be nineteen. Mary was the centre and the model for her family and her extended family. As an active member of St. Monica's Church in Toronto for over fifty years, Mary was an executive and worker in the parish credit union and a driving force in the St. Monica's Seniors Club for over three decades. She served the Catholic Women's League at both parish and provincial levels. She was an avid bridge player and a major fan of her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and later her greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be at the Visitation Centre in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mount Pleasant Road (East Gate entrance), on Tuesday, September 20th, from 2:30 to 4:30 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Her life will be celebrated by a funeral Mass at St. Monica's Church, 44 Broadway Avenue (at Yonge Street), on Wednesday, September 21st, at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. Many thanks to the staff at Providence Villa and particularly those caregivers in Redwood House who made her last four and half years so wonderful.
