Mary Katherine Thompson, 88, of Champion, died 3:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Shepherd of the Valley - Howland. She was born December 14, 1917 in Warren, the daughter of Charles and Laura B. (Beach) Fischer, and was a lifelong resident of Champion.
Mary Katherine was a 1936 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and had been a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Warren. Her greatest joy had been her family.
She will be sadly missed by her three sons: Richard (Rhonda M.) Thompson of Kinsman, Robert (Wendy S.) Thompson of Vienna, and Michael (Jacqueline A.) Thompson of Poland; eight grandchildren: Carrie L. (James) Hall and Chad R. (Laisa) Thompson of Kinsman, David M. (Amy) and Brian D. Thompson of Poland, Tiffiny B. (Stephen) Vesey of Elmira, N.Y., Tarra K. and Jason B. Thompson and Christopher Vesey, all of Vienna; and four great-grandchildren: Jacob and Addison Thompson, and Hunter and Hayden Hall.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Lee E. Thompson, whom she married October 19, 1946 and who died August 24, 1997; and two sisters, Betty Fusselman and Virginia Denny.
Private services will be held. Burial will be at Champion Township Cemetery. Material contributions may be made to Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 N. River Rd. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44484.
