Facts and Events
--Source of information: "A Book of STRATTONS" (Vol 1, page 233); When the town was divided, in 1786, their home was in that part from which the new town of Granby was formed. About five miles from Simsbury is a small village still bearing the name "Stratton-Brook". Martin was a farmer and lived on the homestead which, as eldest son, he had inherited from his father. The latest record which the writer has been able to find of him in Hartford County was in 1786. Some time before 1691the family moved to Bradford County, Pennsylvania. No record of Martin's death, nor of Hannah's has been found. Many of his descendants have been traced to the present day. Among them are men occupying positions of trust and honor. See Rev. Charles Carroll STRATTON, D.D., in Who's Who in America. References
