Madison Enterprise Recorder, Madison, FLJuly 18, 1969: Mrs. J. C. Black Passes Mrs. Martha ElizabethBlack, 74, died early Tuesday morning in Valdosta. She was thedaughter of the late Mr. William Paten Richardson , and was anative of Madison County. Mrs. Black was a member of the LeeBaptist Church. She is survived by one son, Prof. W. E. Black,of Athens, Ga. four daughters, Mrs. Waldron Ragans, Lee; Mrs. M.E. Crago, Valdosta, Mrs. B. E. Ellis, Jacksonville, and Mrs.Jack Sale, Blountstown; five sisters also survive Mrs. Black, asdo twelve grand children and three great graandchildren. Thefive sisters are Mrs. Samuel Hammock, Mrs. Ellis Horne and Mrs.Clyde Harrell of Live Oak; and Mrs. Charlie Woodart and Mrs. C.M. McDaniel of Madison and a numbre of nieces. The funeral washeld at 4:00 P.M. Thursday in the chapel of T. J. Beggs FuneralHome with interment in Macedonia Cemetery. The Rev. Mr. I. T.Carter and Rev. Mr. R. A. Kelly officiated at the service. Mr.Ronnie Williams was the soloist. Active pallbearers were DaltonWoodard, Hazel Woodard, Billy Richardson, Waltron Richardson,Coleman Richardson, and Calvin Williams. Honary pallbearers wereJ. H. Phillips, S. A. Kinsey, Wallace McMullen, George Jewel, R.L. McClain, Johnny Whitty, Carl Burnett, Oscar Henderson, andLeslie McMullen.
