Martha Pugh Jones, a widow, traded houses in Venedocia, Ohio, with Paul and Violet Reynolds Ashton. The transfer war recorded on 30 Apr 1946 in Van Wert, Ohio, vol. 141 p 118. The Ashton's paid "one dollar and other valuable considerations," for the swap.

Violet told RC that Martha wanted to downsize. Paul and Violet were expecting their second child in August. Their home, next to the ballfield, was only a one bedroom house. Martha's home, close to the railroad tracks and the elevator, had two upstairs bedrooms and one downstairs bedroom.

Two of Martha's sisters: Mary E. Jones and Laura P. Uhl, and their husbands, signed off on the transfer.
